Send A Care Package is a giveback initiative made possible through iHeartCats' partnerships with rescue and shelter organizations across the country. This program was created with a simple mission: to give shelter cats a boost of morale and a little extra love and care while they wait to be adopted.

Why It Matters

Life in a shelter can be stressful and lonely, especially for cats who have been waiting a long time to be noticed. On top of that, many shelters operate on tight budgets, and it's often hard to stretch limited resources beyond the basics. Care packages help on both fronts — covering small comforts that shelters may not otherwise be able to provide, while also giving cats a boost of morale and a moment of joy that can help them feel cared for. That extra warmth can also help a cat feel more relaxed and appealing to potential adopters. Each care package typically includes a meal, treats, a blanket, and a toy — small comforts that can make a big difference for a cat waiting to be adopted. 

How You Help

There are several impactful ways you can support the Send A Care Package mission:

• Shop Care Package Products: Select products in our store are specially marked to support this program. A portion of proceeds funds care packages filled with meals, treats, blankets, and toys to bring comfort and joy to shelter cats.
• Join the Hero VIP Club: By becoming a Hero VIP Club member, you help fund care packages on an ongoing basis.
• Make a One-Time Gift: You can also make a one-time donation to help send a care package to a shelter cat. 

Care package recipients rotate across the various rescue and shelter partners we work with on a given campaign, so the specific organization benefiting may vary. Every contribution, big or small, helps a shelter cat feel a little more comfortable and a little closer to home.
